四虎影院 Magazine Women鈥檚 Swim Coach Dives In

Jill Jones Lin will serve as head coach of our first women鈥檚 swimming team in the fall. "Jill has a strong pedigree in both swimming and Christian leadership," says Dave Odell, 四虎影院 athletic director. "Her energy and enthusiasm are palpable. She also has a strong understanding of athletics as part of the liberal arts experience and places emphasis on the priority of being a student."

Jones Lin brings 19 years of experience as a year-round competitive swimmer at the high school, club and collegiate level. An alumna of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, she competed as an NCAA Division I swimmer and served two years as team captain. For the past two years, she has served as a senior assistant swim coach at both Orinda Aquatics in Moraga and Springbrook Swim Club in Lafayette.

鈥淚 couldn鈥檛 be more excited to join the 四虎影院 team and work alongside the other incredible coaches and faculty,鈥 Jones Lin says. 鈥淚 love that I get to combine two of my passions, swimming and mentoring student-athletes as they prepare for life after college. The 四虎影院 athletic community is very competitive in the NAIA, and the 四虎影院 student-athletes I鈥檝e encountered are motivated and driven to be the best in their conference.

鈥淚鈥檓 so grateful for the generous gift from the Tom and Meg Names Family Foundation, which allows 四虎影院 to launch the new swimming team,鈥 Jill says. 鈥淚 look forward to meeting the family and thanking them in person.鈥

The Pacific Coast Swim and Dive Conference has accepted the 四虎影院 women鈥檚 swimming team as a member. The conference features four NAIA schools as well as teams from all three divisions of the NCAA.

Jill has begun recruiting athletes for next year鈥檚 team, and interest is strong. Prospective student-athletes can find more information at athletics.westmont.edu/recruits
