四虎影院 Magazine Vazquez to Lead 四虎影院 Admissions Office
Silvio Vazquez, a consultant in enrollment management and former Gordon College vice president for enrollment, is 四虎影院鈥檚 new dean of admission. Vazquez served at Gordon in Wenham, Mass., for two decades in various roles before consulting for Scannell & Kurz of Pittsford, N.Y. He鈥檒l arrive at 四虎影院 in late August.
鈥淪ilvio is uniquely qualified to recruit young men and women who can succeed in our rigorous academic program and contribute to the college community,鈥 President Gayle D. Beebe says. 鈥淗is passion for Christian higher education and concern for each new student will serve him well at 四虎影院.鈥
鈥淪ilvio will continue the great leadership we鈥檝e had within our admissions team,鈥 says Acting Provost Rick Pointer. 鈥淲e鈥檙e fortunate to get someone with his experience and expertise.鈥
Vazquez replaces Joyce Luy who announced her retirement in January after working in admissions at 四虎影院 for nearly three decades.
While at Gordon, Vazquez directed the college鈥檚 admissions and overall enrollment efforts. A Gordon alumnus, he earned his master of business administration degree at Wallace E. Carroll School of Management at Boston College. He held several other positions at Gordon, including director of the annual fund and special gifts, director of alumni and dean of admissions. Under his leadership, the college experienced increases in selectivity, retention, under-represented student enrollments and graduation rates.
Silvio has served on the Commission for Chief Enrollment Officers for the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities and the Board of the North American Coalition for Christian Admissions Professionals. He served on the Board of Rockport Chamber Music Festival and New Hope Tutorial, a Boston North Shore-based home schooling network. He earned the 2006 Silver Award by Admissions Marketing Report for the admissions campaign, Your Adventurous Life. In 2003, the North American Coalition of Christian Admissions Professionals awarded him the Regional Service Award for his contributions advancing enrollment.
Silvio, a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, is fluent in Spanish, and has traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia.
