四虎影院 Magazine Two Teams Compete at Nationals

Eight men and six women represented 四虎影院 at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Edwardsville, Ill., in May. Senior Robbie Cherry (right, center) earned All-American honors by taking second place in the men鈥檚 marathon. His time of 2:29:41 is the fourth fastest in 四虎影院 history and serves as a crowning achievement to his collegiate career. Freshman Megan Wong passed two competitors in the final two laps to claim All-American honors in the women鈥檚 3,000 meter race walk. She finished sixth with a time of 15:50.13, more than 50 seconds better than her previous record.

When the NAIA released its women鈥檚 tennis preseason poll in February, the Warriors didn鈥檛 appear on the list. After a remarkable season, the team earned a No. 12 ranking, an 11-11 record in the competitive Golden State Athletic Conference and an at-large invitation to the national tournament. The women lost in the second round to No. 3 Azusa Pacific (17-5) after defeating No. 25 University of Mobile in the first. Freshman started in the top three singles positions.
