四虎影院 Magazine New Baseball Coach Brings Extensive Experience Coaching and Playing

四虎影院 has hired Tyler LaTorre as the 15th head baseball coach in the team鈥檚 64-year history.

鈥淗is experience as a proven recruiter at both the NCAA Division II and Division I levels will help him continue our success in baseball,鈥 said Robert Ruiz, athletics director and former baseball head coach.

鈥淲e鈥檒l strive to build Christ-driven leaders who will serve others and glorify God,鈥 La Torre says. 鈥淭hey鈥檒l learn accountability, commitment and belief in something greater than themselves. I want to encourage our players to develop a balance of discipline, integrity and humility to achieve excellence in their spiritual lives, academics and athletics.鈥

LaTorre comes to 四虎影院 from Sacramento State, where he served as the pitching and catching coach and recruiting coordinator for the past three seasons.

Previously, LaTorre served for two years at San Jose State as the pitching, catching and hitting coach and the recruiting coordinator. His coaching resume also includes a two-year stint at Division II San Francisco State, where he served as associate head coach, pitching coach and recruiting coordinator for the Gators. His work at San Francisco State will provide valuable experience as the Warriors transition to membership in NCAA Division II.

La Torre played professional baseball from 2006 to 2015 in the San Francisco Giants鈥 and Milwaukee Brewers鈥 minor league systems. He also caught for the Italian National Team from 2012-2016.

LaTorre played his college baseball at UC Davis during the 2002-2006 seasons. A two-time captain and four-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, he played on the 2003 Aggie team that advanced to the NCAA Division II World Series.
