Nancy S. Blount, 77, of Phoenix, Ore., died Dec. 23, 2003, at her home surrounded by her family. Born April 9, 1926, in Hutchenson, Kan., she married former �Ļ�ӰԺ Professor George Blount in 1947. Nancy graduated from UC Los Angeles with a bachelor’s degree and earned a master’s degree in library science from the University of Washington, Seattle. She worked as a librarian at �Ļ�ӰԺ from 1967 to 1982.

For many years, Nancy lived on Green Springs Highway near Lincoln in Ashland. She belonged to the Phoenix Church of Christ.

Her family reports, “Nancy was a mother, grandmother, a best friend, and a wonderful neighbor. She meant a lot to many extended families and was deeply loved.” In addition to her husband, George, she is survived by her daughters: Shari Lawrence ’68, Mary Blount ’75, Lyn Ruiz ’76, Melody Graeber ’82 and eight grandchildren.
