四虎影院 Magazine How to Qualify for Title IX
All colleges and universities that receive federal aid must provide equal opportunities for men and women in intercollegiate athletics. Congress enacted this law by adopting Title IX in 1972.
While women participated in 四虎影院 club sports as early as the 1950s, the college began adding intercollegiate competition for women only in the 1970s. Currently, 四虎影院 supports six men鈥檚 and five women鈥檚 intercollegiate sports.
To achieve compliance with Title IX, 四虎影院 must provide equal opportunity as perceived by the Office of Civil Rights in three areas: participation opportunities; financial aid; and all other benefits and treatment.
This fall, 四虎影院鈥檚 office of institutional research is surveying the student body to determine the athletic interests and abilities of our students. Based on the results, the college will develop a strategic plan encompassing the next five years to incorporate changes needed to make our athletic program鈥檚 current practices and policies comply with Title IX.
